| So yesterday, the whole island of Oahu had a massive blackout. There was only one unit that wasn't affected by this.
This happened at around 6:45 PM for me. I was in the shower and I noticed that the light was starting to dim. I thought that the light was dying when it eventually shut down. I finished my shower and left the bathroom to see that the whole neighborhood was all dark and creepy.
Prior to this, around 6:00 PM, I saw that the sky was kinda dark. A few minutes later I could see flashes in the sky, which I thought to be lightning, or thunder. I even told my parents there was going to be a blackout tonight.
And that really did happen. I was sitting around doing nothing, eating chips and wheat mix while my parents got some flashlights. It was around 7: 30 PM when our unit got the backup generator back on and we could use the hallways and elevator. We went to the car to listen to the radio and heard a HECO person, the company that provides us electric, and he said it was going to be back on by 8: 30 PM.
What a fibber, the time it came to 8: 30 PM, it was not back on at all. For dinner, we had rice, which my dad cooked right before the power outage. Since it was nice and hot, we were able to use some cold leftovers and cover them to make them warm. At 9:00 PM, I was so bored, without my computer, I played my DS until 10:30 PM and it was finally time to sleep.
Around 3:40 AM, I awoke, my throat dry. I got off the bed and grabbed the big gallon of apple juice, which I took out of the refridgerator and left it there so the items inside wouldn't spoil. I stared outside and there was still no light at all. I waited for a while, and went back to sleep at around 5:00 AM.
I awoke again at about 6: 30 AM, and I just opened one eye and stared at my DS on the charger. The orange light had not gone on yet so I knew the electricity was still down. I waited only 10 seconds and then I saw the orange light flicker on. So I went back to sleep after that.

| Lol, you think your blackout was bad? Here's my best blackout story: It was during summer vaca, and me and my parents were visiting relatives in the Phillipines. The night b4 the blackout, it was raining like crazy. By the time i woke up, it had turned into a near thyphoon, the streets were flooded, and the power was out. So yea, it was cold, dark, and we had basically nothing to do but sit around, stare at the cieling, and play some cards. Power was out for about 12 hrs. | |

| Mines was also 12 hours.
My friend's mom last night, during 6:15 PM, went out to dinner. When she saw the parking all dark, she was scared and told her husband to go home and eat. When she went home, everything was really dark. She had to feel her way up the stairs, and when she got to the 14th Floor, her son was trying to open their unit. It wouldn't open. She scolded Derek for not being able to open it until the man inside opened the door. It scared them to death until they realized they felt for the wrong unit. It was two doorways down.
Anyways, tonight they say they might have another blackout because of the thunderstorm that's coming. Just this morning it was raining like crazy on the road. I was going to my friend's bowling party, sitting outside and seeing the rain poor like mad. My other friend commented on the road and said how we could use it like a swimming pool or a water slide. The road was almost in 3 inch water. | |

| LOL a summer a long time ago, in i think 2003 or 2004 there was a blackout in my area. For about 2 to 3 days in August, all power was gone. I was sort of young at the time, but I remember looking down at my street at around 6 PM and all the backyards were filled with smoke from BBQs.. LOL | |
