Let the community help.

I don't know about everyone here, but I'm somewhat picky when it comes to things not being 100%. That being said, I'd like to suggest letting the community help fix some things for you, Zeru.


For example:

In that image, there are some icons missing. It might not be a BIG deal, but the more complete the game is, the better. We can provide the icons, and you can implement them.

Zeru if you agree and give us the GO AHEAD, I'd like to know the image format (.png?) and what color the transparency is. Thanks.

Seeing as how i haven't photoshoppped in like, forever, i could give this a shot. I would guess the file format is either png or gif

Sure that would help, it use png image and transparency is the one you posted, but I don't think it really matters as long as the background is white in which I prefer it like that.

Also just pm me the icons, and post them separated and not all in one picture.

and and and, dont ours have to be smaller then usual since it looks like
some of the skill icons are always cut off.

well, he will choose the best I guess, out of all of the icons.

Yea, it seems cut off because the MS icons are around 32x32
Yet the game can only support 24x24.
I just don't have that much time to resize and edit all of those icons.

do u want use to make updated icons as well, or just icons for skills that don't have them yet?

we should just probably make icons of the ones that dont have them first, then update the old ones.

It would be nice if all of them have that Maplestory look with the white box. I could resize the ones already done and also make a template (the white box) so others can use it.

at 24x24 it gets a little confusing to do due to the pixels getting blurry at that size when you try to zoom in, and my PS cs5's magic wand is being annoying =\ it gets too much of the image that i need, so changes abound...

well what i've been doing with my photoshop is taking a SS of the desired icon (i'm using bannedstory) and then selecting the icon itself. Since MS paint has a box select tool, you could try that, but it sound like it'd get difficult if you try to make any icons that are more... elaborate...

To make it easier, you could just go to a MS database website and download the image. But to be honest, MS Paint kind of sucks. If you want a not-overly-complicated-program I suggest Paint.NET, it has pretty much the same things as MS Paint plus other stuff like editing image levels (brightness, saturation, colorize, etc) and the most important thing, it supports transparency.

Or just get gimp. Which is pretty much Photoshop, but free.

you could always use paint to resize after you fit the skill
into a icon and then if there are issues with the pic use gimp/photoshop
or w/e you have???

GIMP is like Phothoshop but much less organized and becomes even more overwhelming than Photoshop. So I usually recommend Paint.NET to most people.

its sometimes easier with gimp but photoshop is cool :D
