compared to probably 95% of the high schools. The TESTS ARE FREAKIN IMPOSSIBLE TO GET 100%. And It's really hard to get like 95% and A-'s. A lot of kids here gets C's and D's. And I'm korean(Asian) so my parents expect the hell a lot of me. And I have to study till like 3 am and go to sleep. That's how I get at the most A-'s

ive been recently failing, but it seems like its just the teacher thats failing us all.
we're all a bunch of "smart" kids too. ex: my average is 70%. class average 55%

wel yeah my classes are like that too. excpet i hit the 90's usually

Math Algebra > Math Honors
For now in my school.
Algebra = 9th grade work + 8th grade work.
Math Honors = 8th grade work.

If I get AP courses, I give up. Seriously, I cannot keep up with no sleep forever. I will be dead tired when I get to PE class.

And... my schools are one of the top ranking schools in the area... which means more homework,projects,etc for us. T.T

top doesn't mean always more homework like mine. The homeworks arent so bad (besides math which takes like an hour even thought I'm really good at math) Projects are pretty easy too. Just do what the teacher asks you to do, make it look neat, and BOOM A+. Now what's really hard are tests and they take up like 75% of my grade. So I really try hard.....20% is project and the 5% are classwork and homework. You just got tons of work that aren't so hard, I got tests Like once every week, and sometimes twice, in each class. So basically I at least have 1 test like everyday(almost). Since I'm ganna be 15 soon, and i skipped a grade.... sophomore. God damned school. You're not ganna get happy when you start high school, although freshmen year is easy as hell. I bet at least you don't sleep at 3AM like me. I'll think next year I'll sleep for like 3 or 2 hours everyday.

What I meant, is that have you been to any other school and taken the same course to truly be able to tell that it is harder?

Math honors is different for high school, there is no math algebra... since everything is algebra. And yes, I hate how tests are like 80% of your mark, it really makes no sense, but that's how the system works. :/ Also, being one of the top schools does matter, because they usually hire teachers that expect a lot of their students aka give a lot of work so the school only is made of the best students.

Most of my classmates also get Cs most of the time but I don't really find it that hard to get As, but then again, I'm not in your class so I can't really say it is the same. But I was also 14 last year, when I was in grade 10/a sophomore.

yeah yeah. I've seen my friends' works in other school, they aren't exactly I would call "equal" to my works. But i guess ur right too. But dude top school in middle school? It doesnt matter much in middle school. and Middle school is a breeze anyway.

aww cmon, those words aren't THAT bad.

But you could also argue that highschool is not important either, the only school that matters the most is university/college and even that, is worth less that an actual job when applying for a job. That's why I think the whole school system should be shortened by a lot, although that would affect a bunch of other stuff...

If you shorten it before u become an adult you go to college....and that means you will shorten things we learn, which is not so good....

Not really, because it would only cut stuff you will never use, like most people will not use all the "advanced" math you learn since grade 10 as well as all the chemistry, physics, literary stuff from English and some stuff from social studies (not history). You shouldn't need to take some courses like that, but then that means that you should know what you want to study/be later in life so you start preparing for it, which most people still don't know even in grade 12... that is the only problem I see with shortening it. I would love to be done with school and go straight to college right now, but I can't...

That's what I'm saying, for example, I know I will never use all those literary stuff I learned and I will forget them within 2 years or so, meaning it was just a waste of effort and time. Not all people will study sciences or other subjects, so yeah, you should be able to choose exactly what you want to study at an earlier age and not have unnecessary things like most English courses. *rants rants rants*
