| Well the day of the dead is an important holiday for the people who had died and now returns to this day. Not mourning but more of a happy sort of thing. | |

*FACEPALM* -Uses notes from Spanish Class and sums up these things- The day of the dead is celebrated to honor the people who has died for a good life and such and etc. There's 2 days to this holiday, the first of Nov. for children, and the 2nd of Nov. for everyone else. The spirits return to earth to "party" and celebrate. They also get offerings for their long trip from the afterlife to here as spirits. I do not want to go to a long lesson about this. | That's not how it is in El Salvador at least, It's only one day, November 2nd and people go to the cemeteries to mourn the dead and there are always people on the streets selling traditional food for the day of the dead (which do vary from country to country) and as far as I know that's how it is in the near countries. Maybe in Mexico it is like that? | |

| Yes it is like that in mexico. It's where one of the places it is celebrated. It also origniated in the Aztecs, Mayans and etc. I think.
