- Using Moderator Points: You can clear your Warning Points at a 1:5 ratio (i.e. You have 30 Warning Points, you need 6 Mod Points to clear it.
Clearing Bans: You can clear your ban record with 50 Moderator Points (if you're aiming for Mod Rank or some other reason). If you clear your ban and get banned again (don't do this), your punishment will start back at 3 days. I seriously think it should be a 1:1 clearing ratio (Also suggested by someone else, PM me if it was you). Otherwise, you could basically clear a single ban with 20 of them (even though you can't), and someone aiming for a mod position, like you mentioned, probably shouldn't get banned in the first place. (Plus, 50 seems like a good amount.) updated.

Haha, I guess some cases will be judgment-based decisions. If you're talking about Meta's guide, no, that one I'll let slide.

| Let's say that the top post in announcements is from july (thought it's not), and let's say that it's stickied. If It's stickeyed and doesnt really bump anything, can we just post and not get counted as a necro? As long it's not spam or anything. | |

| ^ We've been through this before haven't we?
A necro is like... -tries to explain-
The most recent post is a month or more old and 1. Doesn't contribute to the topic (spam, rant) 2. Not a bump
Only okay when its a bump, update notice, missed/additional info, etc. I don't think it matters if its stickied or not though.

He doesn't need to if he doesn't want to. If he decides to, he'll have 33 mod points left. - detergeant2 wrote:

If it's important enough. The post WILL fit the definition of a necro no matter what, but warning points are a different story.

updated. I don't think a 1:1 clearing ratio would work, because if you consider the fact that you can clear an entire ban record with 50 points, who in their right mind would just get rid of 50 WPs that way? I tried to scale it based on how monstrously difficult it is to accumulate MPs (you and I of all people ought to know) and if it's 50 is to clear all bans, then 20 to clear one seems reasonable enough. I don't know, though. What're your thoughts? Maybe we could at least scale it to 1:2 or something. - detergeant2 wrote:

The thing is, why would you post on a thread that hasn't been touched at all for over 3 weeks? Unless the poster missed something vital, I see no reason to post, regardless of it being stickied or not. The only possible reason I could think of this actually working is wanting to thank the user for a particularly helpful guide, but you can just do that by increasing their rep (look to the upper-right of any message box and press the + button).
