FS III 0.11 FlashFanFiction

Quick definition: A flashfiction is a very short work of fiction with a twist at the end of some sort...this doesn't have so much of a twist, but...




The final swipe of the sword echoed, slashing across the man's body. He gasped once...twice...and stopped.
I stood there, panting. It was over.
...
...

"We did it!" I exclaimed.
I was happy. For the first time in my life...
"Guys, we made it!"
I looked around....
...Empty.
"Where's everyone?!"
Nothing. The ones I had come so far with; all gone.

"I thought everything would be over if I won...right? What the hell is wrong with this world!"
I yelled the last phrase into the empty sky. Nobody replied.
"It's just...empty. Someone...tell me...What...what's going on....?"

I turned to the front and saw a gleaming white portal.

There was nowhere else to go. Answers...and maybe my friends could be found there. Valiantly, I strode forward and entered the portal.



"I'm asking you to shake off...and join us in the arcades today!"

What?
I looked to the right of me. There he was, healthy, as if that man had never struck him down.
"I'll have to think about it."
What was going on? I looked to the front of the class...

The bell rang. Wait, wasn't this when...
My backpack was unbelievably heavy. I opened it....
The crossbow. The feathers of the Phoenix. The money.
It was all there. That meant...
Wait, when the bell rang....

I was friendless in this world again.
Once more, once more I was returned to the loner, the misanthropist.
What can I do?
I twisted the Friendship Ring on my finger...what good did it do me now?
I mindlessly left the classroom...

"Hey, it's that guy that hates people!"
Two people greeted me outside of the classroom. Not her warm, smiling face, but two vandals.
"Why don't we..."
Before they had a chance to react, I drew my Steel Sword.
"Step aside."
"Damn! He's armed! Get away!"

They ran for it. Without a doubt, a person with any sort of blade would be feared.
I sat down near the entrance to the classroom, contemplating my next options...

"Woah!"
I turned around. It was him....the hapless one. He was back, even though I'd seen that monster plunge a knife into his body...
"..."
"Hey don't scare me like that..."
I stared at him, uncomprehending.
"You're...Zeto right? Why are you holding that pipe?"
...So it was a pipe. Regardless...
"It's also glowing in a weird way. Is it some sort of drama prop?"
"..."
I had to give a final warning. It was all I could do.
"Don't join the Organization..."
"What?..."
"..."
"Whatever. I'm going home..."
I had no idea if the message got through to him, but I tried. I stared after his retreating figure. After he left, I stood up. This was when it was going to happen...

That man. There he was now...

"Woah! What's going on!"
There he was behind me. I saw some light emanating from behind me.
"YOU...YOU'RE ONE OF THEM! HEAVY CRASH!"
He lunged forward...but, I couldn't let this happen.
No, even without friends, the memories of my friends remained.
I would fight.
I would fight for a better future for everyone.

For Luna, Aria, Evelyn...
And Klaire...Ellis... and Silvie as well.
"VALIANT SOUL SLASH!"
I leaped forward and perfectly parried his attack.
"Go! Get away from here!" I yelled to him.
I tossed him my backpack, and he immediately complied.
"YOU...YOU'RE ONE OF THEM TOO!"
"I am! And I'll show you just what 'one of them' can do!"

Poor Zeto, he must be going through a lot

Sure. He finds friendship (finally) after nearly betraying his friends and then they just...disappear. Poof.

I'm still wondering about the timeloop, though. A few things I can glean from the situation:

~ Other E-Star users are affected (Klaire is affected; he can't remember Burak, Silvie is level 1 as opposed to level 35...)
~ Zeto is unaffected (He parries Wite's attack when he shouldn't have known about his E-Star and shouldn't have been able to defend against an attack from endgame boss, he warns Klaire about the Organization, he's also armed when he didn't find the pipe until going into Silver Rod Alley)

Therefore:

~ Luna, Aria, and Evelyn don't remember Zeto, which is kind of sad.
~ Zeto becomes the Akemi Homura of FSIII (makes sense in context)
~ Awesomesauce.

I wonder, though. When we get Luna/Aria/Evelyn back, how will you justify their levels being what they are? o-o
...If you reset their levels, I'm going to rage. :c

There will be no level resets.
The question comes as in ... is this a timeloop?
This is getting complex

Luna saved Zeto... DOES THAT MEAN LUNA ALSO FACED THE SAME SITUATION?

He has his equipment because he gave the bag of items to Ethan, remember? Also, the Steel Sword is missing from the inventory. If he somehow lost it, then the next best equip (Sabre) would have been missing, but it's not.

SEVEN Recurs? You want Zeru to code seven separate Recurs? o_o

Well, Zeru said he wouldn't reset levels (Luna, Aria, Evelyn) so I wonder how he'll justify it?
Maybe the time loop is stable and the events of it will always happen (that is, leveling up to XX level) unless Zeto goes out of his way to stop it...or something.

Because Klaire is obviously not level 35-50-ish, so....

Oh. Maybe the people who died in the first timeline get their levels reset? Because some deity (*cough cough don't know any of those cough cough*) is reviving them?
