| I would rather play in the normal server. After you get to do everything in a private server it'll get boring. In the normal server I doubt you'll do everything. I like private servers because I got to test out new jobs to find out which fits my gameplay. | |

| Normal Ms is better for me. You hardly stay on a pserver mroe than a week due to the the high rates. You get bored super fast in pservers. Normal MS at least have a community, a economy (chaotic but still) and your effort and dedication worth it. | |

| Regular is for the Maple community. Pserver is for testing out maple content. So have both in handy? | |

How the hell can it get you banned? It in NO WAY interferes with your regular game. The only thing you should download for a private server is the client. If the client doesn't have the mushroom icon it's probably fake, delete it right away. If you want to be really sure just get a clean localhost and hex edit it yourself. And of course, use different IDs and passwords for private servers, don't be a retard. At thread starter: P-servers, as stated, are great for testing out builds, skills, trying new characters. If you can find a private server with lower rates, a good community and events, then it gets pretty fun. Plus, you don't have to worry about always being the best. Of course the downside is losing your friends, I suppose. Most private servers have great communites though. And don't forgot PVP HOMG. Find a private server with PVP, it's really quite fun. I recommend trying out a few private servers, find one you like and stick with it for a few weeks. Then make your decision. You can always switch back to regular MS, or go back and forth anytime you like.

There are tens of thousands private servers, NEXON can't sue them all. Some only have like 10 players anyway; so what's the point? Most are run by people who can't pay more than a few hundred bucks. Not to mention most of them can't be tracked down.

I just gave you a BUNCH of good points that you completely ingored. NEXON could never sue all servers. Most servers have no more than a hundred players, there's really no point in suing them. The most important point, is that most are run by people who can't pay more than a few hundred bucks. Do you know how much money and time it takes to sue somebody? First you need to track down their IP, figure out who they are, send them a letter, get lawyers on the case. And they'll just declare bankruptcy; they only have a few hundred bucks in their own pocket anyway! NEXON would lose tons of money. There are also tons of private servers that are simply groups of friends, they have no websites or ads or anything. Putting your server on XtremeTop100 isn't a mistake. There have been very few Private servers that have ever been sued, and the only MS one getting sued is Odin. And that's only happening because Odin actually has a few good thousand players, and NEXON can actually make some money off of it.

| I guess private server is for those people who cannot get NX, therefore playing private server gives them a chance to gain NX for mesos instead of real money, so I don't see why Nexon would have to sue because the creator of the private server isn't gaining any profit anyway. | |

Not really. Because in a private server, NX is only for looks and it no longer affects your gameplay. I had NX and switched and started to play private servers for a while. They're pretty fun, most communities are great-- tons of fun events, active GMs, etc. And PVP is great too. They're good for testing new builds/trying new characters and of course nobody has an advantage over anybody else which is excellent.

| I like Global better than a private server over all. . but I do play private servers time to time if I want to test out a certain build for a class. I mean I've tried just about every class in Global but it never hurts to plan ahead for the ahead levels.
So why not try a private server though I can not stand to play a private server for long. I feel I'm wasting time on it when I could be on global working on that. Global makes me feel like at least I accomplished something to ware private servers I feel like I am wasting my time. I mean yes it was fun at first but private servers get old fast and sometimes even very isolated.
Then again some have a decent amount of people but the friends you do make on there never stay more than a week or twos time. I mean even I played a private server with some of my best friends but it got old quickly. (Maybe because I'm more self aware how pointless private servers are) I don't know.
Anyways . . Fun to try maybe try out some classes mess around with NX or play global and actually make something out of your self. Either way it's more or less really what you want to do. Me Personally I rather play global any day of the week over a private server.
