Don't use metal. Try something like hardy titanium, flexiglass, or Kevlar. Can't have it eroding too quick.
Plus, superglue or duct tape works great on the fingers. Also, since blood is retracted from the fingers first to keep the vitals intact, the moment those fingers frostbite and the nerves freeze, nothing will matter there anymore.

He blinked, but the game wouldn't start. He touched his screen.
Suddenly, there was a bright white flash...and Sinnwolf was sitting in his chair no more...(what is this, .hack?)

"Looks like he's coming around," said a voice.
Where was he? The last thing Sinnwolf could remember was attempting to catch up on playing Final Story. The game had not started, and he touched the screen...next thing he knew...he was here.
He opened his eyes, but his vision was still disoriented. He shut his eyes tight and counted systematically to ten.

When he hit ten, he opened his eyes. Everything went into focus. He was surrounded by unfamiliar people...and yet, he felt as if he knew them.
"Who are all of you?" he asked.
