| Before reading: These are important guidelines for the forum. They're not meant to scare you, they're just here so the forum doesn't get all screwed up. We want the forum to seem open and friendly to all, so keep that in mind. ================================================ PM ME FOR REMOVING WARNING POINTS/BAN COUNT. Also if you have any questions. See the bar at the left? Under the cool moderator points bar? Yeah, those are your Warning Points. Get it to 100, and you're banned. NOTE: 2 Warning point can be cleared with a Moderator point if you PM me. I'll remove them for you. Again, that's a 2:1 clearing ratio. That's right, Mod points have twice the power of warning points. So try to be helpful guys! Right below this is a table. By the way, 1 month = 30 days Banning | Duration | First | 3 Days | Second | 1 week | Third | 2 weeks | Fourth | 1 month | Fifth-Ninth | 2 months | Tenth+ | 1337 days (might want to reflect on your actions here?) | [/tr]
NOTE: Three OFFTOPIC posts equals to ONE Double Post/Spam. | Spam/Double+ Posting | Flaming/Inappropriate Language | Illegal Stuff | Inappropriate Link | False Reporting | Insulting a mod/admin | First Time | Warning | Warning | 5 points | Warning | Warning | 3 points | Second Time | 1 points | 1 points | 10 points | 5 points | 3 points | 5 points | Third Time | 3 points | 4 points | 15 points | 10 points | 5 points | 10 points | Fourth Time | 5 points | 7 points | 30 points | 20 points | 10 points | 25 points | Fifth Time | 10 points | 13 points | 50 points | 33 points | 15 points | 50 points | Sixth+ Times | 15 points | 17 points | 100 points | 50 points | 20 points | 75 points |
Stuff to note: Beginning from your first post, you've got a ONE WEEK (that's right, seven days people) GRACE PERIOD in which you will be spared from receiving warning points. There are two exceptions to this rule: 1. Illegal stuff will still give you warning points regardless of grace period. 2. If, by any admin/mod's judgment you seem to be abusing this grace period, your grace period will end immediately and warning points WILL be assigned. Let's say you triple post. It's whatever # offense times the # of extra posts you did. Ex: Somebody quadruple posts (lol). It's their third offense. 4-1=3, so that's 3 extra posts. 3 X 3 = 9, so he/she gets 9 warning points. Simple enough? Flaming/Swearing: Don't do it. If you have a good reason for doing so, inform a mod/admin. If we think it's reasonable, we may remove the points. Illegal stuff: Okay, why would you do this? Ex: You try to sell drugs here. We will hand out the warning points, and then hunt you down (not the second part really, we're not stalkers). Inappropriate Link: Double check your link. There may be some people here that are innocent, and want to stay innocent. Respect that, I guess? False Reporting: Don't annoy us, please. Insulting mod/admin: Do you really want to do that to someone that can punish you brutally? Like, if you're in school, would you go swear and insult your teacher (or principal)? EXCEPTION: Of course, if you honestly think we're becoming jerks, then go right ahead. Just think before you do things.

As...er...co-mod, I concur with this (because sometimes, mods/admins CAN be dictators.) If you seriously, SERIOUSLY feel we're being stupid, unfair, or any combination of the two, go ahead. EDIT: As a countermeasure, let's do the opposite here! I won't list explicit Mod-point giving actions (because if anybody just answered 100 questions, they'd get mod status, so we'll be much more stringent about that.) I'll simply list what you can do with Mod Points. And since I'm cool and I hate HTML tables, maybe I should do an ASCII table...nah, there isn't much to list anyways. Gaining Moderator Points: By discretion of Mods/Admins! You earn these things. You won't get a set amount per question, but maybe some per group of questions you answer succinctly and helpfully. Using Moderator Points: You can clear your Warning Points at a 1:5 ratio (i.e. You have 30 Warning Points, you need 6 Mod Points to clear it. This makes it so you need 20 to clear 99 of them, which is a fair fraction of... Clearing Bans: You can clear your ban record with 50 Moderator Points (if you're aiming for Mod Rank or some other reason). If you clear your ban and get banned again (don't do this), your punishment will start back at 3 days. Moderator Rank: Yup, the great granddaddy of it all. You need 100 Moderator Points, and a clear ban record to do this. Good luck, because this is very, very difficult. You CAN become a mod with Warning Points, so long as you have no bans. Also, read this, because I'm going to continue spreading propaganda for my own guides: https://finalstory.activoforo.com/t2174-final-story-forum-rules-regulations-and-adviceEDIT2: I just realized I can make threads in the Site Announcements now. I was going to say the same thing. Kind of weird, just logging back in and seeing this dictatorship-ish rule. It would be able to influence how this forum and others feel to its restrictions and can make it feel as if one can't act as aloof as they normally can. It creates a bad environment for the communication of the two because a mod/admin can misunderstand another person and therefore give out warning points. For the inappropriate link, give them 1 warning the first time. They could be making an inappropriate link without knowing that the link is inappropriate (it's possible, it could be just a random ad that pops up and didn't pop up for them, or they got recently hacked on their computer and didn't realize it). - NeoFrost wrote:

That's a good idea, but should the complexity of the question also affect the amount of Mod-points one can receive? - Shadow wrote:

Of course, we're not going to be all like "YOU LOOKED AT ME FUNNY 70 WARNING POINTS AND YOU SAID A LETTER TO ME 50 WARNING POINTS," but if it comes down to one of us needing to, we'll probably ask people who's on to see if it's justified or not. Yes, we'll be asking you people. Of course, Ninja might not, but I will if I ever am going to. Multiple opinions on things are never bad. Shadow, he's ZETERU. Get it right. "bad environment for the communication of the two" That just sounds like a trainwreck. o-e But yeah, if you're worried about me wantonly spitting out warning points, then don't be (unless I'm changing my own. xD) But you'll have to ask Ninja for his methods... EDIT: Also, why are you worrying? If Zeru hasn't given you WP's up til' now, we probably aren't going to either. EDIT2: In hindsight, I think a better idea would be to give each newcomer an "immunity" period. Say, after their first post, they get 1 day to acquaint themselves with the rules, and then they're fair game for Warning Points. It seems unfair to strike unwary newcomers with a blemish on their record already.

| Eh. Replace aloof with "loose" or "relaxed" ... something along those lines. It happens, Neo. Those genuinely "complex" questions do exist. :D Such as explaining how to defeat a certain boss and some requirements you would get in order to defeat them which takes like 3 to 5 paragraphs (because they don't look at the guides dsjofhdushvyfcj). I've seen them before (hinthintnudgenudgeNeoandhisdetailedexplanationsxD). What I meant for the communication thing is that as a newcomer, one would feel intimidated with the admins/mods who has authority. They don't know them as well as we do now, so it can affect how people would work and all that nonsense. C: I'm not really complaining if I don't get WPs, but hey, sometimes people forget. XD Yeah... I don't believe you would do anything crazy Neo... it's just Ninja who I'm not certain of. :o I'm not sure to what degree would you guys consider a post 'insulting' to another one. Immunity period huh... I don't think a day would actually be enough... maybe 2-3. Some people don't start posting until a few days after they joined the forums, and then once they start, they're not 100% sure how the rules would go, so a longer immunity period might be needed. First off, they're most likely not going to look at "site announcements" right off the bat. LOL. I don't think anyone really have done that before when they join (certainly not me anyways). | |

| Oh yeah, bumps don't count do they? I mean, if you're going back to a guide or something and you revamp the whole thing to be updated, but no one knows because no one has posted it in a while and you were the last person to post it, do you still get WP for that? I mean, it wouldn't make sense if you did give out WPs then since you're helping out the community with the guides and all. | |

Bumps for guides are fine, didn't I say that? o-o Not on this thread. C: Neo linked his guide somewhere on the first page. It says so there. - Before wrote:
Immunity period huh... I don't think a day would actually be enough... maybe 2-3. Some people don't start posting until a few days after they joined the forums, and then once they start, they're not 100% sure how the rules would go, so a longer immunity period might be needed. First off, they're most likely not going to look at "site announcements" right off the bat. LOL. I don't think anyone really have done that before when they join (certainly not me anyways). Well, the whole reason I rewrote the warning points thing was because the old one that Antlan wrote was kind of tough.... Especially since there were no warnings. I guess there could be an immunity period, but it would probably vary from person to person, with no actual "set" period of time. Since every person is different, and people could abuse it if there was a set period. - Before wrote:
Yeah... I don't believe you would do anything crazy Neo... it's just Ninja who I'm not certain of.

thanks lol.... NP. C: I'd just know Neo a little more than you, that's all. So start getting active & post more so I can view your habits/actions and then know how you would judge. :DDD
