After many months and possibly when everyone stopped reading this after my computer crashed and I lost my work, I shall update again! O_O There’s also this scene [only for them that takes a good deal of text] where everyone gets as they make their job advancement… may it be conspicuously or inconspicuously.*coughcough*
Wow… I feel… very different. It feels as if it’s been years since the last update. :D I’ll see what I can do.
… I bet you all hate me. D: And for very different reasons too… maybe at least 3 – 5 reasons per person..
Chapter 17
Ambush of the Slimes: Part 1
The party is now dozing off in a small clearing after a few minutes’ walk after their heated discussion on what's the best way to kill the taxi driver for giving them such a misleading ride. They found some berries in the nearby bushes and had them for dinner. After their meal, they decided to go to bed and took a spot near the fire. Myfantasy took the west to north side, along with TheViper and NeoFrost while Shadowfluxx took the east to south side, along with iChocolate and Before. The small glimmer of the fire kept the entire party warm also served as light for the campsite. Once the forumers went to bed, snoring could be heard instantly. Only two people remained awake, however.
NeoFrost shifted in his side of the corner. He couldn’t sleep. His mind was plagued with the idea that the party is going to get lost. Ellinia is a huge forest after all. No one ever finished mapping it and lived to tell it. “Can’t sleep huh?”
NeoFrost turned his head around to see Shadowfluxx sitting up. “Living in a place such as this is good and all, but I have this feeling of unease,” Shadowfluxx told him. “I’m just worried… this is Ellinia after all. Who knows what will attack us here…” NeoFrost smiled. At least Shadowfluxx seems to be more responsible than the others here. “I’m worried too, it’s not every day you come to the forest of magicians,” NeoFrost replied. “We’re sitting ducks here, and fire can attract dangerous enemies.”
“Indeed,” Shadowfluxx agreed and saw something move in the bushes in the north and the west side. “Is it normal for bushes to move like that?” Shadowfluxx pointed to the direction of the bushes. NeoFrost turned his head and paled.
“No, that is not normal. This is a monster ambush.”

Before tossed and turned in his sleep. He felt paralyzed and in a daze. Then, he felt some pressure on his arm as if someone was squeezing it and snapped out while looking around to see what happened. He was surrounded by a yellow-white light that seemed to dance around In the atmosphere. Realizing this is the spot where he first met the being, he waited until the voice who called him here returned. Instead, he felt another squeeze on his right arm and turned to look at it. From what he can see, his right arm was bandaged tightly, but it started to unravel by itself. Slowly, but surely, the bandage fell to the floor and Before stared at his arm in surprise. A red tattoo, in the shape of a phoenix was embedded on his right arm. Curious as to what it is and why it was there, he touched the tattoo and felt a huge surge of energy release from it, and at the same time, drained his stamina and rapidly made him tired. “Ugh,” Before quickly withdrew his hand in shock and confusion. “What is this?” his voice came out shakily due to the loss of energy.
The tattoo seemed to shift and move around as if trying to relay a message. Before made a frown at the sight of the tattoo wiggling on his skin. ‘What is it trying to say?’ Before thought.
The phoenix tattoo looks as if it was sighing. ‘Wh… A fool ….’ Before heard . Shocked, Before looked around to see who said that. ‘That didn’t sound like the voice I heard back then… so who could this one be?’ Before wondered.
‘Get… stick’ Before heard the voice calling out to him in an impatient tone.
“Huh?” Before responded and then realized what the voice meant. He reached into his right pocket and pulled out the wooden stick. ‘Cha…nel ... er…gy’ the voice said.
“What?” Before asked. “Can you repeat that?”
‘Chan...nel … en..ergy’ the voice repeated again, and more slowly.
‘Chan-el? En ergy? What?’ Before thought as he racked his mind to understand what the voice just said. ‘Chan el? Chan nel? Channel? En Ergy? En…ergy… energy? Channel Energy?’ Before thought.
“Wait, how am I supposed to do that?” Before asked, incredulous. He felt a squeeze on his right arm again and looked it the tattoo. It was starting to glow bright red. ‘Oh, of course, it wants me to put my hand on the tattoo, make me weak and near dead from losing a lot of stamina at once, and then it will show me how to channel my energy’ Before asked in a sarcastic tone. On the corner of his eye, he could have sworn he saw the phoenix tattoo curl its lips into a smile.

Don't worry... you'll all get your abilities... There's a very intricate history and long chapters await....

Ambush of the Slimes Part 2
Before woke up, along with everyone else, startled after a loud scream. Rubbing his eyes with his left hand, he realized it was still night time. “Look!” Shadowfluxx and NeoFrost pointed. Everyone turned around to see what the raucous sound was about. Emerging from the dim-lit bushes, they can faintly see green globs moving around. “What is that?” iChocolate asked, his sleepiness quickly turning into fear. “Globs of jelly… no, I think that’s slime,” NeoFrost answered, his own voice shaking in worry. “Slime?” Before questioned, a bit worried himself. “As in the monster ‘Slime’?”
“Yes,” Shadowfluxx replied, worry showing in his eyes.
“Look!” Myfantasy cried, pointing to the shrubs around the Slime. Everyone turned their heads around and paled. The shrubs near the first Slime began to shake, and small green globs were beginning to emerge from the shrubs. More Slimes were coming their way.
“What do we do?” cried TheViper, his face contorted with worry. “We can’t fight against Slimes! We don’t even have a weapon for crying out loud!”
“Grab your items and let’s get out of here!” iChocolate answered while breaking a cold sweat. Everyone began to grab their items from the campsite in a rushed manner. Before was doing the same thing, until he heard a voice. ‘…Bef..ore’
“Eh?” Before cried aloud, startled by the voice, but instantly recognized it. Everyone turned their heads to Before. “What is it?” NeoFrost asked, impatient to leave. “Oh, it’s nothing,” Before replied back. ‘Talk... mind,’ the voice replied as if it knew what was going on.
‘Oh… ok then,’ Before thought. “Am I doing it right?”
‘Con…centr…ate... Phoen..ix… talk … to … me … spec..if..ically…’ the voice replied, a bit more sternly.
Before concentrated on the image of the Phoenix he saw in his dream and thought, ‘How about now?’
‘Yes…’ the voice responded in a happy tone. Delighted, Before was going to ask something to the voice when a hand shook his shoulders. “Before, we got to go, now!” Shadowfluxx said, his voice full of urgency. Before glanced at the Slimes and realized they were moving in now. He and Shadowfluxx ran to the party that is fully prepared to run away at the south entrance of the clearing. Before noted that his right arm doesn’t hurt anymore, and he can move it with ease. ‘Hmm… strange,’ Before thought. ‘ I don’t even feel pain anymore. How did my arm heal so quickly?’
However, Before had no time to think about his arm. He and the other party members had to run away from the Slimes that were invading their campsite and hopping around furiously. “Let’s head south and west!” TheViper called out. Everyone agreed unanimously. Adrenaline pumped their veins and they were too busy thinking about escape than to think about where to go.

hopping furiously on our tent fort?! HOW DARE THEY!

so now i'm in the 3rd cast?

Ambush of the Slimes Part 3
On the Run
Blood is pounding on TheViper’s ears. He was leading the party in the western direction for such a long period of time that he almost didn’t realize the party was completely tired. “Let’s take a break now,” Before said, his legs giving out on him and bending down due to overexertion. “Forget Physical Education class! I never run this much in my whole life in one go.”
“I think we outran them now,” Myfantasy replied, taking deep breaths to recover his lack of oxygen in his lungs. “Besides, I don’t think those Slimes can get far by just hopping around.”
“How do you manage to run this long anyhow?” NeoFrost asked. Both he and iChocolate were breathing heavily, but not as heavily as Before. “I’m guessing it’s because he’s a lurker,” Shadowfluxx replied, un-phased from the running they have done. TheViper flashed a grin. “It’s one of those perks of being one.”
Before took this time to look around their surroundings. They were covered in a thick forest path with trees surrounding both sides. The moon was still high above the sky. ‘It must be around midnight,’ Before thought. He also saw what seemed to be a dirt path. “I think this path leads to the city of Ellinia,” Before said. Everyone looked at Before and studied their surroundings carefully and saw what he meant. “Okay,” NeoFrost said. “Once everyone recovers their stamina, we’ll start walking on this path which would hopefully lead us to Ellinia.” Everyone acknowledged NeoFrost’s idea and murmured their agreement. The run left Before considerably tired, but he still heard the voice as clear as ever in a mildly-high but strong pitched voice. ‘Before,’ the voice called.
‘Hm?’ Before thought, fully concentrating on the image of the Phoenix he dreamt about. ‘What is it?’
‘Re…move … bandages…’ the voice resounded in Before’s mind in a tone that had the sound of pain and discomfort. Before thought about what the voice meant, and realized that it meant the bandages on his arm. He concentrated and tried to unravel the bandage with his left hand, but another hand soon covered his in a grip that forced Before’s hand to stop moving. Before looked up to see who was preventing him from removing his bandage and saw it was Shadowfluxx. “You shouldn’t be removing that,” he said with a calm appearance. “You’re still injured.”
“I’m fine,” Before replied. He tugged his hand free and realized that everyone was staring at him with disbelief. “You are fine…” iChocolate said, not hiding shock in his face. “Your health bar is full again. When did that happen?”
“I don’t know,” Before replied while continuing to unravel the bandage but failing to do so miserably.
“Here, let me help you,” iChocolate said while walking toward Before. With ease, he untied the bandage and unraveled it quickly, only to stop abruptly after unraveling 3/4th of the way there.
“What’s wrong?” Before asked, his voice full of worry.
iChocolate stared at Before and then back at his arm. “When did you get a tattoo?”
Everyone’s ears perked up and rushed towards Before to see what iChocolate meant by that statement. A tattoo was embedded on Before’s arm.

A red Phoenix.

Their eyes were filled with more disbelief than before. “You never had a Phoenix tattoo when we bandaged your arm,” TheViper stated. The party stared at Before and saw him looking at his arm sheepishly.
Shadowfluxx crossed his arms and arched his eyebrows arched up. “Care to explain?”

Lol It is one of the perks. AND IM NOT JUST A LURKER I POST SEE! :D
